New bundle courses to help Unix users transition to Linux

United Arab Emirates, 28 May 2008: Opennet Middle East & Africa, the Master Distributor and authorised Certified Training Centre of Red Hat Linux products for GCC, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Algeria, Morocco, and Tunisia, has announced that it is introducing a special summer offer combining the Red Hat system administration course and a Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) exam with the option of an additional option to sit for the RHCT exam should the student need to re-sit the exam.

“The RHCT exam can be quite difficult for students to get through in one attempt and by providing a second opportunity, we give them another opportunity to sit for the exam without incurring the additional expense,” said Khaled El Badri, Training Manager at Opennet MEA.

The total course runs for five days with four days on Red Hat system administration (RH131) and one day for the RHCT exam. The course is recommended for Linux and UNIX users who want to start building skills in systems administration, to a level where they can attach and configure a workstation on an existing network.

“As companies consider both Linux and certification of their IT staff, it is important that they understand the range of benefits associated with employing professionals with demonstrated capabilities,” said David Allinson, GM for Opennet MEA. “According to recent research, Red Hat certification not only helped companies reduce risk but also increased both system and administrator performance in its network infrastructure.”

As the adoption of Linux increases in the region, the demand for skilled technicians will also increase. Maintaining a solid, capable delivery ecosystem is important to ensure that enterprises can effectively deploy the most effective tools. Red Hat’s popular performance-based certifications for system administration, Red Hat Certified Technician (RHCT) and Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), are examples of credentials that have a demonstrated impact on the four essential priorities: manage risk, balance IT staff productivity, implement projects successfully, and consistently use standards.

The course will run from 13 to 17 July and details can be seen on http://www.opennet.ae/img/Training-Schedule-2008Dubai-uae.pdf.
